Ok, we just got back from the doctor. We went over first thing this morning and had x-rays done and saw the doctor. Thankfully he said there is no fracture. He actually said from the x-ray, everything looks beautiful. He said that according to the x-ray everything looks as it should. He said what he thinks is happening is that her quad has met its limit. He said that we are at 3cm now (which I am very grateful for) and that sometimes when you get to 3 cm the quad has just been stretched as much as it can. He said that every child is different and you just never know. So he said for the weekend he wants us to go all the way down to 2 turns a day (we have been at 4 turns) and do easy knee bends. He said that this means we will loose some bend but that her leg and the muscles and tissues need some time to heal. He said that he knew this would be disappointing to me but that in the long run this is the best course of action. Because he said if we push her leg too much and go further than it can go then we will cause more problems and have to have more reconstructive surgeries. So I agree with his decision I was just very disappointed. He said we will go back up to 3 turns on Monday and see how she does.
So what you can pray for is that her muscles will heal quickly and that she will tolerate being able to go back to 3 turns on Monday. You can pray too that we will not loose much bend in her knee. Once it goes to 45 degrees then they stop lengthening. So this may mean that we don't reach our goal of 5 cm. You can pray that we will trust the Lord with whatever He chooses for Lillie's leg.
We are grateful for the progress she has made.
She has just worked so hard and been such a trooper that I would love for her to leave her with her legs even so she can see what all her hard work accomplished.
Thanks for loving us and praying with us!
and we are praising Him that it was not a fracture!
I am grateful to be here too, I can't imagine being home and this happening.
The doctor was wonderful and came out of surgery to see us, so we are grateful for all the sacrifices that have been made to have us here!
Thank you!
we love you!
