"soverignly" lost ?????

Just wanted to give a quick update on how you can pray for our PT "issue". The hospital PT clinic called today and said that they had lost our paperwork and application for financial aide and wanted us to resend it. I am sure God has some good plan in this but that was discouraging b/c now that puts us very close to the deadline to apply. God knows far better than we do what is best and I am sure we will see his goodness in it getting lost. You can pray for all of that, that they will quickly review our application and grant us aide in the PT costs. We have also applied for a children's medical assistance grant through united health care and they called us a week or so ago and said they had not received our paperwork at all, we had mailed it off weeks before... crazy! so Brad re-sent it all and then a week later it turned up (after getting the new application). They said b/c all that happened it put us off until the march board meeting to review for assistance. Again, I know God has a good plan in that (b/c "THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO") but we both still felt a little discouraged. So you can pray for that as well, they will be reviewing it as a board the first of March.
We did hear from our insurance that they denied our appeal (which we assumed they would) so please pray along with us that God will provide through this grant and/or the financial aide at the hospital clinic.
I can't believe we will be leaving in less than a month (we leave March 22nd).
thank you for loving us and praying for us!
we are so grateful!
I know in the end when sweet Lillie has two "normal" length legs this will all be worth it!
She is counting down the days until she gets to "wear crocs like Sissy"! :-)
love you!

Leaf Blower

We had to put this on our blog from last week too. You know how we have to capture "big moments" in the lives of our children... well this one may not seem like a big one to most of you but at our house it SURE WAS! We were shocked at how far Addie Lane has come. Up until just a few months ago Addie Lane has been HORRIBLY afraid of the blower! I mean HORRIBLY, like she would run and scream and shake. If you saw her during one of these little "episodes" you would think... "wow, what horrible thing happened with that little girl and a blower that would make her act like that". crazy, I mean crazy! Well anyway....Brad has gradually been working with her on not reacting so "crazy" to the blower and then last week he was able to get her to actually hold the blower! I could not believe it! I was shocked! Who would have ever thought a mom would be proud of their daughter for holding a blower! :-) (well this mama is!)
notice Lillie in the back ground with her fingers in her ears... she is not quite "there" yet! :-)

Yuletide Nostalgia: The Christmas Scruffle

You know how most people enjoy watching "The Christmas Story" over and over on TBS every Christmas season. Well, our family has dug through the recent archives and found our yearly video that will go down as a clasic in our family! We laughed so hard watching this as the girls are trying to get their spot light in front of the camera and end up taking a tumble and notice how it doesn't stop Addie Lane. (notice the head lock Addie Lane puts Lillie in as she trys to take the spot light). yikes! I guess we need to work with Addie Lane a little bit on vanity! Listen at the end at what she yells as the video ends, we are going to save this for black mail one day! Aren't kids fun! We thought we would let you see "the other side" of our sweet little girls! :-)

Books of the Bible

We've been working with the girls..."trying" to teach them the books of the Bible. They both love music so we've used a well known children's CD that has a books of the Bible song. Amazingly they are both beginning to learn them. Today we recorded them singing the Books of the Bible (limited to the Old Testament only at this point). Also...notice when they are singing - they have made up some interesting names for several of the books. (Did you know "Nay-Carol" was a book of the Bible - well Lillie thinks so!) FYI - If you want to play the videos - be sure to scroll down and mute the music player - otherwise you'll get an interesting mash-up of our girls and Shane & Shane.

one lump or two?

We had a mother daughter tea at church today and Addie Lane was SO excited. All morning she had been asking questions about tea. I think the most exciting part to her was that she was actually going to get tea! When we got there they got to pick out what they wanted to wear to accessorize their dresses..... she of course chose a purple hat and purple boa! Then when it was time to get tea, she just had to have... you guessed it, the purple cup and saucer! :-) Her other favorite thing was that she got to put sugar cubes in her tea, she thought it was funny to call it a "lump". She of course made me wear a hat (that was much too small for my large head). This tea party was built around these dolls called "a life of faith" and they were challenging them to be little girls with a strong faith in our savior! It was really sweet! We had a great time together and I am so thankful for this sweet little girl God has blessed me with. Here are some pictures of her with 2 of her good little friends too, Anita Scarborough and Lexi Brown (and Lexi won the doll, way to go Lex!)
