whooooo! Hoooooo! CROCS!!!!

We just saw the doctor and he said that on x-ray Lillie now has 4 and a half cm!  Our goal to reach even has been 5 cm!  He checked her legs by "eye" today too and he thinks she is already even.  He said that the x-ray may not have shown 5 cm b/c her leg was bent some, so he thinks she may actually have 5 cm already! PRAISE THE LORD!  

We are so grateful!

He said at our next check up for her to wear her knee bar to make her leg totally straight so they could see for sure by x-ray then how much she actually has.

He told her today that she could wear her crocs and she was SOOOOOO excited.  (she has been beggin for crocs since she was 2).  She wanted to come right back to the room and get them, we have been saving them up in the top of the closet for this special day!  :-)

The above video is of her wearing them for the first time (her leg was a little sore in it so she was not her typical "happy" Lillie, she had been walking all morning and was a little sore). (Its pretty funny/cute too, she "squeaks" when she walks, you can hear it in the video.  Maybe she needs some WD-40)  :-)

She is doing so well and we are so proud of her and so grateful for what the Lord has done for her.  As soon as she put them on she wanted to tell God thank you!  :-)

The doctor actually gave us a prescription for a 2 cm shoe lift for her "good leg"

he said that she is walking like her "bad leg" is already a little longer and it will just continue to get longer and so he wants her to have a lift on the other leg now b/c he wants it to force her leg straight.

I think I will let her enjoy these crocs for the next two weeks though and wait and see what our x-ray shows next week.

I know that will be hard for her to understand why she is getting another lift but it really would be a great thing b/c that would mean it would be that much longer before she would need another surgery.  He said she could still wear the crocs for "fun" some but that other times she would need the lift for her hip and spine!

Here is a picture of her x-ray from this morning!  You can see in between the pins where the new bone is growing!  Its kind of cloudy but that is her new bone, she has grown all that in a little over a month and a half!  Its really amazing!
